WOW… What a place!

John Measner of Measner Magic accompanied me on this venture of inquisitiveness.

We received a very warm welcome, met some new friends and an old acquaintance, Doug Anderson. whom John Measner helped on stage at Great America, Gurnee, IL. back in the 80’s. Small world!

Once through the front door it’s like stepping out of Dorothy’s house into the Land of OZ

The brightly colored and ornate shop makes your head spin as you try to focus on all of the decor, books and magical effects lining the walls. Further in (if you’re invited), is the seating area for the stage and a horseshoe arrangement of tables for presenting close-up magic. Houdini’s Library to your right and a beverage/snack counter to your left. We were told that they would soon be adding a special club room in the near future and at this writing they have already begun. The shop is actually located in Locust Grove, just outside of Tulsa. It’s near Hudson Lake, a vacation spot for water sports and warm weather fun. Festivals in the area bring welcome foot traffic to the area. A courtyard in front of the shop is an inviting respite with a cooling fountain, small stage show and close-up magic performed for visitors who stop by.
